Pedal Sri Lanka 2024
A Journey of Heart and Hope
This February, 27 riders from Melbourne embarked on an extraordinary 1,350 km cycling journey around Sri Lanka. Over 21 days, these cyclists explored the island’s breathtaking landscapes, but their mission extended far beyond the scenery—they rode to raise 12 million Sri Lankan Rupees for the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital.
Covering routes from Negombo to Jaffna, Trincomalee to Yala, the riders experienced the diverse beauty of the island while giving back to communities along the way. One of the most touching moments was their visit to a village in Tissamaharama, where they donated laptops and school supplies to over 40 children. This heartwarming initiative, led by Wesley Michael of Omesha Corporation, was supported by the logistical expertise of Experiential Journeys and the medical aid of AUSLMAT. It stands as a shining example of the power of community, compassion, and the spirit of giving.
